How to wear Pastel Colours

Dear Readers,

Pastels are my new favourite thing ! If you follow my blog, you know I mention pastels quite often, so I decided to finally dedicate a whole blog post to my spring favourite trend, pastel colours. I know a lot of people love pastels, yet some find it tricky to decide with what to pair them so I'm giving you some ideas with my favourite ways to style them. As I always say, these are just my ways, you can have your own ways to style them and adapt them to your own personality.

With pastels, the first thing that comes to mind might be vintage tea sets, grandma's cushions, or a photo-shoot with a large lolly pop or balloons. Some girls might not be comfortable with all that girly theme, however pastels can still be edged up a little bit, especially when pairing them with metallics. Using metallics pastels can be spiced up for a night out partying with friends or for a more classic occasion.

Another fun way to wear soft pastels is accessorising with bright neons. I wouldn't go with a full pastel dress accessorized with neon, that might bee to much for my taste, but adding white can separate the two statement colours and balancing the outfit. This can be so versatile and enables you to mix and match and create different outfits using white, neon and pastel.

Trousers from Pull and Bear, Shirt from Topshop

Pastels can also give a feminine vibe to masculin denim pieces. I love mixing different trends to neutralise the outfit. I kind of go on the safe side, not to be too masculin, or too feminin.

Pastel colours can be paired with neutral colours like white or beige and serve as a pop of colour, yet maintaining a neutral and warm, soft look.

Pull and Bear Dress, Topshop Blazer, Stradivarius Shoes and Bag

The only way I would pair black with pastel colours is when the black item is a bag or a pair of shoes. Personally I would avoid to pair black pants, tops or dresses with a pastel item, the look just doesn't convince me...

Pastel colours are found in many floral prints, but that would be another spring trend on which I will eventually blog!

I hope you enjoyed this blog :) I promise you more blog posts on other spring trends will be coming up!

Much love

Outfit Re-Creation #1

Hello dear readers :)

Feeling the cold ?? Weather like this makes me soooo eager for spring and summer!! I can't wait for spring to start, not only because of the weather, but because I want to try so many awesome new trends that are coming out this spring !! Last spring and summer's trend.. colour blocking, will show up again this year, especially with pastel colours <3 <3 but not only !!

Yesterday, in the Italian TV program, Grande Fratello, the conductor, the beautiful Alessia Marcuzzi was rocking this trend so well I decided to blog about it. Colour blocking means pairing contrasting colours against each other in one outfit. In fact, she had a pale yellow blouse, a bright blue pair of trousers, and orange heels. I didn't manage to find a full picture of her outfit from the front, but this is what I found.

This outfit can be re-created in many different ways, and I have prepared two outfits to give you some ideas. The pieces I used can all be found in shops which we all love, Bershka, Stradivarius, New Look, MissSelfridge and Pull and Bear.

These are the items separately:
Miss Selfridge

Bershka

Pull and Bear

New Look

Stradivarius

Bershka
And hese are the looks I created :

and

The second look is more casual and layed back, this trend is great because you can wear it up or down, however you want and adapt it to your personal style :) Try not to include more than three colours in your outfits, but if you're doing so, make sure you go with neutral colours like beige, black or white.

If you're interested in this trend, you should watch these two videos, made by my favourite youtube beauty guru Dulce Candy :) :)  click here to watch video

I hope you enjoyed this blog and that you will try this trend next spring !! Until then, get cozy and snuggle as much as you can in this cold weather, and don't forget to like my facebook page !! I really appreciate your comments and feedback :) :)

Nail Polish Obsession !!

Hello dear readers!

Today I have a fun short blog for you, about Nail Polishes ! I want to share with you my love for Nail Polishes. I have a total of 38 nail polishes, and none of them is like the other! I think that choosing the right nail polish is very important. Nail polish shows your personality and your mood of the day. I change mine every week, and sometimes I just wear nail hardner, because I prefer having no colour on my nails than cracked nail polish or which is not neat!
I have some questions that I'm going to answer, and I tag every beauty blogger who reads this to do this blog too answering the same questions :)

1. Where do you store your nail polishes ?
I store my nail polishes in a box full of muffins :) I find it very  practical as it is easy to chose one to use in this way, and don't have the problem of never using the ones on the bottom!

2. What is your favourite topcoat?
I love the TOTAL DUTY from Nailoid Results. It can be used as a base coat, nail hardner or top coat. It really gives a nice glow to the colour and prevents it from cracking for days !!

3. Which is your favourite brand?
CATRICE CATRICE AND CATRICE ! I discovered this brand lately, and loved it immediately! The polishes are really pigmented and there's a large variety of colours to choose from! They're not expensive either.. and you get a really good amount of product! One coat is enough, and they dry quickly as well !! You know every nail polish has nails and numbers.. well, catrice has the most cute names ever! like 'Easy peasy, lemon squeezy' for the green one!! What more can you ask for ??

4. What are your most used nail polishes?
These three nail polishes are the most polishes I use. The red one is from Golden Rose, (no 60), the coral one is from Classic Glamour , (no 131), and the pink one is form Catrice, (no 790, The Pinky and The Brain). You can never go wrong with a red nail polish, and since I love red lipstick, I love matching it with it. The coral one is great especially for spring and summer, again it goes with a lot of different outfits, and the pink one, I think it really suits my skin tone, I feel safe with it, don't know why !

5. What was your first nail polish ?
The first nail polish I remember purchasing is the Essence multi dimension in the shade 54, named 'Hot Stuff'. As you can see, it has only a few product left! It's a beautiful warm colour, great for autumn especially... pity it's going to end :/

6. Which nail polish is your favourite ?
Catrice (420 Dirty Berry) ... It's my favourite because it's unique! I never saw this colour in any other brand's selection of colours. It has really fine glitters in it, it's warm yet light purple, great with any kind of outfit, i simply adore it!

7. What are your favourite nail polishes for spring/summer ?
For spring and summer I love light  and pastel colours on my nails! I love the way they look especially with tanned skin!  A pop of colour in summer brightens up your outfit and shows your personality! These colours were really popular last summer, and will be even more next spring and summer! I can't wait !! :D

8. What are your favourite nail polishes for autumn/winter?
For Autumn and Winter I like to go for warm colours, nothing bright but still colourful! I think the teal one, (75, Trying to be cool) from Essence, is perfect for when you need something colourful because you feel like summer, but you still want something warm because it's not time yet.  The gold and the red are perfect for chrismtas and new years time, and the pink and purple, I've already told you how much I love them :)

I hope you enjoyed this post :) let me know in the comments below :) I might do a question and answer one on lipproducts too!!

Much love

HEART TO HEART

Hello dear readers :)

These are ten confessions a girl shouldn't do, but I still do.
  1. I am a Malta song and eurovision fanatic. I always follow them and hope for my favorites to win. And yes I always hope we pass to the final and win. Sorry for believing in Miracles.
  2. I believe in heaven and in God and I pray a lot, all day, everyday. And don't think that I'm lame because I'm religious.
  3. I don't follow Chanel, Dior, Gucci or anything... I prefer to get inspired by street style which I can afford rather than catwalks.
  4. I sometimes wear clothes I don't even like, but which are comfortable and keep me warm.
  5. I hate being size 14, but I do nothing to get thinner.
  6. I don't believe in myself, and I doubt my choices everytime I decide upon anything.
  7. I follow way too many tv series just because love stories make me happy.
  8. I am very shy and afraid to talk to people which I'm not comfortable with, however I trust way too much easily.
  9. When I'm home alone, I sing and dance to music, imagining I'm on a stage with people watching me.
  10. I have problems with time management and money management. I just can't control myself.
You're asking yourself why I put these in a blog? Because I'm not perfect, I'm not pretending to be a perfect blogger, a role model or anything. I think my blog is sometimes trashy when compared to other, more professional ones. However, I still do it, because I do what I love, and I don't care of what people say.  I suffered from low self esteem for a long time, but I'm tired of conditioning my life to make it more appealing to others.

I'm not trying to teach anything to anyone here. I may be way too honest, maybe I'll regret posting this, but that's how I am and If you don't like it, just don't follow.

Much love

January Favourite Products!

Hello My Beautiful Readers :)

Happy February! Can't believe I'm saying that!! Christmas was like yesterday ... and I haven't seen January pass by! January was quite a simple month for me ... I haven't been out a lot except for school and simple casual outings on Saturday nights. I needed a rest after all that Christmas spirit I guess, and prepare myself for these exams I'm dealing with at the moment.
However I still have some new products that I have been loving and constantly using during this whole month, and would like to share with you my opinion about them. I had my January Delights post last week with things I'm excited about, but it did not include any products, go take a look at that too if you've missed it :)  This is my first monthly favourite and I will do this for every month of this year if you find it interesting, so let me know what you think :)

The Body Shop Tea Tree Blotting Tissues. They're life savers when you have oily skin which you cannot control, like I do. These soak up excess oil instantly without removing makeup, and leave a matte finish. Try blotting your face with a tissue.. and then use these... You'll see how much more oil these blotting tissues soak up and that with normal tissue papers haven't been removed!!

The best concealer ever used! Just one swipe of this and bye bye dark circles! I have become an expert about sleepless nights during this month, but the Maybelline Instant Anti-Age Concealer hides my morning dark circles perfectly :)

Essence I<3 Stage Eyeshadow Base (Eye Primer)... this baby saves my day, everyday. I have really oily eyelids, and not just oily, they are really thin and nearly transparent. So after I apply my foundation, I use this and it stays on for a whole day, It keeps eyeshadows on without any creasing, but I also use it for everyday use when I have no eyeshadows on. I used to apply concealer, but I think its texture is too thick for eyelids, but very few product of this one gives a perfect natural look. I really recommend this!

The Body Shop Born Lippy Strawberry Lip Balm, with a really nice smell (almost good to eat). I started using it because I had one which you had to use your finger to apply it, and that used to irritate me, it is much more convenient in a chap stick, and I must say that it works pretty well too.. dry lips bye bye :)

I mean it when I say... this is the best pencil eyeliner I have ever tried! I had forgotten about pencil eyeliners because I wasn't getting the results I wanted with any liners of any brands... so I had turned to using gel and liquid eyeliners ... (which I still find really good) But for everyday use I prefer using this one.. Revlon Grow Luscious Lashliner. It is very very very pigmented and once it dries, it stays on for a whole day and does not smudge.

This Body Shop four sided nail file does miracles!! I had no idea such thing existed! it has four simple steps... 1. (black) FILE NAIL, 2. (lime) REMOVE RIDGES, 3. (grey) SMOOTH NAIL, 4. SHINE NAIL. You just go over your nail with these four sides, and it doesn't just file your nails perfectly and removes any imperfections and ridges , but also leaves them SHINY... like you've put nail hardener or something ... I cannot show you how great this is... but it really worked :)

I hope you've found this post interesting and if you try one of these products, let me know what you think!! :)

See you next time !!

Much love
