OOTD- Boots up Summer

Hello readers! 


Here's an OOTD! Who says boots cannot be worn in summer? I love the way boots look with any summer clothing item, especially this jeans dress, which is a must have for my summer wardrobe. It can be dressed up or down, and the shoes and accessories can change it to fit many different looks, but honestly, with all the shoes I have worn it with, I never felt it stood out as much as it did in this complete outfit.

What friends are for

Dear readers 

I know this is supposed to be a fashion blog, but I figured out I started blogging claiming I want to bring out your best self forward. And I think I can do that not just by giving tips and tricks on how to do makeup and what to and what not to wear. Your best self has to start from the inside, and this must be the third time I'm quoting that my motto is this :

Do what makes you happy

Be with who makes you smile

Love as long as you live

and Laugh as long as you breath. 

I guess the people around us influence our well being more than we want to. Friends are the family we can choose, the people we choose to share our free time with, the ones we share our secrets with and which we can trust, and we choose to trust because we have faith that all they want is our best. 

However, sometimes our own friends hurt us. When giving something to a friend, we should never expect a thankyou. If you are a friend to them, you should give them the freedom to respond to your friendship in their own way. Everyone has their own histories and personalities, and their own way of receiving and giving, maybe sometimes slower and more cautious than yours. 

If we want to stop being hurt, we have to trust that those who love us want to show us their love in a real way, even when their choices of time, place and form are different from ours, and from what we expect. 

''Friendship gives value to survival''

When giving anything, it must be given without worrying about the reason it's being given. Do not give to receive anything back, because there it is you who are being self centred by expecting, and not the other person, by not giving back. Allow friends the freedom to respond as they want, and let receiving be as free as giving, then maybe you can feel true gratitude. 

Choose your friends wisely and don't be a pleaser. You will find people who will hurt you, and others who will surprise you by giving you more than you expect. Just remember that the gratitude of giving without expecting will never let you down.

What's in my beach-each bag

Have you been hitting the beach? This year I'm really fond of my Debenhams beach bag and Acessorize swimsuit. I wanted something which is kind of retro, inspired by the 60's and navy theme. So what's best than a bandeau polka dot swimsuit, and a bag with sailor knots and blue and white stripes? 

Here's what I carry in my beach bag on a typical day at the beach. Some friends say I'm like a first aid box, I tend to carry too much things, which I then do not use, but I love being safe! 

• towel : a towel of course, or even two if going on the sand, or staying for a bbq and planning to swim late !
• sun glasses, cover, and hat : protect yourself from the sun, and stay comfortable when laying on the beach with friends 
• magazine or book and mp3 : take something to do with you, not everyone is capable of laying on the beach for an hour not doing anything
• camera and mobile : take pictures of you and your friends on the beach! Capture lovely moments, and watch them again in winter !
• water : water is a must, all day and every day in summer, especially on the beach. It hydrates your skin, and your body. 
• sun block : apply sun block and take care of yourself ! You can still get a beautiful sun tan even when applying sun block! 
• little purse : just to put some money to buy an ice cream! 
• hair product : something for your hair to stay in place, and regulate your beautiful beachy waves 
• wide tooth comb : when your hair is wet and tangled, it's better to use a wide tooth comb, or nothing, as brushes and other combs would damage your hair.
• compact mirror, bobby pins, and blotting papers : every girl loves to make sure she's looking fine, a little mirror helps you adjust your hair for your way home, and blotting papers help you remove excess oil from your face. I reviewed them here !
• lip product : any lip balm or gloss with an SPF would do 
• tweezers : you never know who will end up with a sea urchin's sting!
• tissues and wet wipes : mine are usually baby wipes, and I use them for literally everything
• small bottle of white wine vinegar : it helps with jelly fish stings 
• as for clothing, I would go with a flip flop, and a comfortable beach dress, or else a shorts and light weight t shirt or vest.  

Now we're ready to hit the waves!

June Favourite Products

Hello readers! 

It is time to do my June favourite products! I have four products, which I recently purchased and have been using constantly in June, and plan to continue using them throughout the whole summer. 

I'm first going to talk about the CATRICE PRIME AND FINE. I use this a face primer, after I moisturise my face and before I apply my foundation. It gives a fresh and smooth feel to my skin, and it helps my foundation stay for long, even in mornings where the sun is at its best, and I'm sweating. It claims that it minimises pores, but I haven't seen any difference in mine. However I still recommend this product as I really think it does a good job as a primer which is especially ideal for summer. 

The RIMMEL STAY MATTE pressed powder and the RIMMEL WAKE ME UP foundation are my latest discovery for a flawless face. I've got a little sun tan, and my previous foundation was not matching my skin tone any more. I wanted something which gives my face a glow and evens out the skin tone, without looking heavy and cakey. The foundation gives a natural finish and glow, and only a few amount is needed as it is not thick and spreads and covers the face easily, allowing the skin to breathe. I love how it has a pump to apply it, so one can control how much product to apply, and not waste any. The powder also has a thin finish, and is ideal to mattify my oily skin. I take this with me whenever I apply makeup, and retouch my face with a little bit of product on my T zone. It does miracles and the skin remains natural and never cakey as long as you apply the pefect amount. 

I still want my skin to look flawless in summer, but you have to deal with the high temperatures and uncontrollable sweat! It's summer for goodness sake, less is always more. I think the combination of the catrice primer, and the rimmel foundation and powder are perfect for my skin and what I was looking for. 

Many of you have heard about the REVLON LIP BUTTERS. I have been reading great reviews about these products and have been wanting to try them for long. Finally they arrived to our little Island so I purchased one to try it, and see whether all the good things I read about them were true. Well, they are the the most moisturising lipsticks I have ever tried. They are also pigmented, fresh and creamy perfect for summer! I chose the colour SWEET TART (90) as bright lips are really in this summer. There are many beautiful colours to choose from, you will surely find one which you will love. Tell me what you think about the Revlon lip butters if you've already tried them!

Euro 2012 Inspired Outfits

What to wear with NEON

Hello readers! 


In a week's time my official summer will have finally started. I still have two exams to prepare for, however, whenever I'm on a break from my studying, I always find myself going through fashion websites and magazines, and planning outfit ideas for summer. Those who follow my blog regularly, know that I'm all about making fashion for yourself, individuality, and shining. This summer is literally time to shine, in every sense, because the 80's trend, NEON is back. I have prepared some outfits on different ways of how I would wear neon without looking like Nicki Minaj!

My New Train Case !

Hello readers ! 

You know I had my birthday a while ago, and some of the gifts I received from my friends were a couple vouchers from Inglot. I have been wanting to buy a train case for long, and I figured out that this was a perfect opportunity to do so! It is perfect for carrying my makeup around, when I need to apply it on other people, now I can carry all my collection with me. Also now that in I'll be in my summer house and I don't have place to store my makeup, this is perfect for me to keep everything organised.

HERE IT IS OPEN, IT FITS ALL MY MAKEUP PERFECTLY

IN THE MIDDLE AND BIG COMPARTMENTS, I WILL KEEP MY BRUSHES, MIRROR, MAKEUP PALETTES, AND SOME BOTTLED PRODUCTS

YOU CAN SEE HOW THE COMPARTMENTS ARE FURTHER DIVIDED AND CAN BE ADJUSTED EASILY. I DIVIDED MY MAKEUP BY THEIR TYPE, FOUNDATIONS, LIPSTICKS, EYESHADOWS, ETC

AND THE SAME THING ON THE OTHER SIDE. I PUT THE THINGS I USE EVERYDAY ON THE TOP SECTIONS SO THAT I CAN REACH FOR THEM EASILY

That was a quick tour into my newest purchase. Shopping is definitely the best cure for exam stress!
